Hotel Dunas de Sal****

 

Overall impression: This family-style complex was completely renovated in 2017. Its quietness is perfect for those who don't fancy the hustle and bustle of the large All Inclusive hotels.

Location: Situated on the west side of Santa Maria, directly behind the new Hilton Hotel. Three minutes' walk to the hotel's own sun loungers on the famous white Santa Maria beach. Ca. 10 minutes' walk to the town centre, 5 minutes' car trip to our dive centre. The transfer is of course free of charge.

Rooms: The 49 comfortable rooms and suites all have bathroom/WC with hairdryer, satellite TV, free WiFi, safe, minibar and orthopedic mattresses. Categories: Double/Twin Standard, Double/Twin Standard Single Use, Double Superior, Junior Suite, Master Suite. Extra bed possible. Discounts for children under 12 years.

Meals: You can book breakfast only, half or full board. Breakfast is served buffet-style, lunch and dinner at the excellent restaurant.

Hotel MiraBela***

 

Overall impression: The owners, Judith and Ron from Holland, run this small, boutique-style hotel with a strong focus on customer service. It was newly renovated and re-named in 2018 and is scoring high marks in all categories, especially cleanliness and staff friendliness.

Location: MiraBela is located in the new pedestrian street of Santa Maria, right in-between most bars and restaurants and within 100 meters from the beach. Eco Dive School Cabo Verde is at a walkable distance (10 minutes) but of course we can also pick you up for free, especially in the morning, when every minute in bed counts.

Rooms: There are 10 double or twin rooms, all with en-suite bathroom, private balcony, ceiling fans and warm-water showers. Free WiFi access is available.

Meals: A lovely breakfast on the amazing roof terrace is included. Shops and plenty of restaurants of all price categories are close by. Nearby TamTam and Cam's have lunchtime deals while Relax offers an affordable lunchtime buffet. For evening meals, the best restaurants in Santa Maria like Le Privé, Chez Pastis, Sabores e Livros and Odjo d'Agua are within walking distance.
